Ingredients:
- 800 grams of natural tofu (preferably firm)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tbsp white pepper
- 1,5 tbsp garlic powder
- 1/2 dl cornstarch
- 1/2-1 dl Go Chu Jang
- 1/2-1 dl ketchup unsweetened
- 1,2 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1,2 tbsp mirin
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tbsp Japanese soy
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 4 cloves of garlic
How to make it:
Press the tofu between kitchen paper or in a towel and then tear into bite-sized pieces. Mix the tofu with olive oil, salt, white pepper, garlic powder and cornstarch. Mix everything together and spread it out on a baking paper and place in the oven at 220 degrees. Should be in the oven for about 20-30 minutes depending on how crispy you want it, mix about every 10 minutes.
Mix together go chu jang, ketchup, rice vinegar, mirin, seam oil, soy, brown sugar and garlic in a frying pan. After the tofu has been in the oven for about 15 minutes, you can start on medium heat and, while stirring, heat up the sauce until it gets a sticky consistency.
When the tofu has a nice crispy surface, take it out of the oven and mix with the sauce. Serve with rice, maybe edamame and avocado, top with sesame seeds and scallions. ENJOY!
